Digital Media Expert Barry Reicherter Joins Widmeyer as Senior Vice President 

WASHINGTON, DC – Barry Reicherter recently joined Widmeyer Communications as Senior Vice President and director of Widmeyer’s digital media practice. Reicherter brings more then 15 years of experience in the interactive field and has worked for non-profits, industry groups, government agencies and well-known consumer brands.

Prior to joining the firm, Reicherter led Porter Novelli’s digital group where he built innovative online programs for Hewlett Packard, Crayola, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Georgia-Pacific, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Abundant Forests Alliance, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, American Legacy Foundation, Propane Education and Research Council, Busch Entertainment Corporation, Penske and many more. Under Reicherter’s leadership, the digital group created innovative online programs such as the consumer-generated content driven SeaWorld.com; the second-highest trafficked government site, MyPyramid.gov; and the consumer packaged goods industry’s first and longest-running sponsored podcast, MommyCast presented by Dixie.
Prior to working for Porter Novelli, Reicherter was operations director for Active.com, the leading registrar for recreational, team and league sports. And before Active.com, he led the Internet Business Strategies group at Best Software (now Sage), launched network programs and new applications for AOL and managed cause marketing campaigns such as American Express’ Charge Against Hunger at public relations agency M. Silver Associates, Inc.
Reicherter, who will be based out of the firm’s DC office, earned his Master’s Degree in Public Relations from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Southampton College. He has been featured in industry publications and has appeared as a speaker and moderator at industry conferences and seminars in the US and in Europe.
