Stephanie Peacock-Morris Joins Widmeyer Communications' New Marketing and Business Development Unit

WASHINGTON, DC - Stephanie Peacock-Morris has joined Widmeyer Communications as director of outreach and development and will assist the firm in launching a new marketing effort for the Washington, DC and New York office.

"Stephanie's public affairs experience and her marketing background will help us be more proactive in telling our story," said Joe Clayton, President and COO of the independent communications firm with offices in Manhattan and Washington, D.C. "We've always believed Widmeyer is largely a well kept secret in the communications world and we're anxious to change that by sharing more about our excellent work and our leading position as a firm.  Hiring Stephanie represents the start of this important new effort and we know that her experience and insight will be highly valuable as we move forward."

Peacock-Morris comes to Widmeyer from Venture Communications, a small boutique public relations firm in Washington, DC.  She served as vice president at Venture and oversaw the majority of accounts and staff at the firm.  Prior to her time at Venture, she served as Director of Communications for the National Women's Business Council and as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Center for Women's Business Research.  Peacock-Morris began her public relations career at Fenton Communications in Washington, DC where she worked with the new business development department as a marketing executive.

She has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and will receive a Masters in Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in College Park in May 2006.
