Widmeyer Announces Six New Major Wins for Health Care Practice
WASHINGTON, DC - Widmeyer Communications announced today that it has added six new clients to its growing health care practice: the American Foundation for the Blind, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, Pfizer, Inc., the American Society of Gene Therapy, Tunnell Consulting, and the West Virginia Medical Institute.
"Widmeyer has enjoyed working with clients in the health care industry for years and we are particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with these organizations," said Henry Engleka, Vice President and Health Care Group Director based in the New York office. "We are pleased to have such a prestigious array of clients and we look forward to serving as a value-added partner to support their communications efforts."
The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is a national nonprofit organization that expands possibilities for people with vision loss. Widmeyer will support the Foundation's new educational products, including the launch of a national public education campaign designed to make older Americans and caregivers more aware of practical solutions that help individuals and their families live with vision loss.
American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (ACMMSCO), an international medical specialty organization, was established in 1967 by Frederic E. Mohs, MD, who developed the Mohs surgical technique for skin cancer removal. Widmeyer will work with the College in developing a branding and positioning campaign to educate the general public and raise medical professionals' understanding and awareness of the Mohs surgical procedure.
Pfizer, Inc. is the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company. Widmeyer is working with Pfizer Corporate Affairs to provide public relations counsel and support on several projects.
The American Society of Gene Therapy has selected Widmeyer to help key audiences understand the science and benefits of gene therapy. Specifically, Widmeyer will help generate support for gene therapy (particularly with key stakeholders), improve the regulatory atmosphere, and strengthen the voice of the gene therapy community and build awareness about the advances in gene therapy.
Tunnell Consulting is an employee-owned company that integrates technical, process and organizational skills to boost the operating performance of manufacturing and service firms connected to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Widmeyer will provide general public relations support on company programs.
The West Virginia Medical Institute (WVMI) is a nonprofit, physician-sponsored organization dedicated to improving the health of people in the communities it serves. For more than 32 years, WVMI has been working in the West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware communities to improve the quality of health care in those regions.
