To understand a target audience

When Choice Hotels wanted to better understand the needs of Federal employees business travelers and identify new opportunities to distinguish itself from the competition, the company turned to Widmeyer Research.

If disaster should strike, North Dakota Department of Health wants to ensure that it can effectively communicative with Bosnian refugees, migrant workers and other special populations in the state. Findings from this research were published in the Journal of Health Communications.

 

To create a winning campaign

The Smithsonian American Art Museum reopens this month with fanfare. The campaign generating that buzz started with Widmeyer research.

Before the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN) could eliminate gay slurs from school grounds, it had to understand young people’s vernacular and how students felt about those words.

To test messages and creative

When Goodwill of Greater Washington was planning advertising for the next year, they wanted to know which radio and TV spots would be most effective and which target audiences were most promising for future donations.

To evaluate success and identify opportunities

Residents in Arkansas have been the target audience for a major preparedness effort, and Arkansas Department of Public Health has polling data to know what is and isn’t working in their campaign.

 

To renew interest in an issue

As part of the launch for its TeenScreen program Columbia University released findings from a public opinion poll and drew national media attention to the issues of teens and depression screening. The Washington Post, USA Today and CNN Headline News were among outlets covering the story.

In order to spark national dialogue on the issue of rising college costs Lumina Foundation for Education started with opinion research that included low income parents, college administrators, higher education policymakers and other thought leaders.
