The U.S. Department of Education’s National Math Advisory Panel, as well as the National Vocabulary Championship, sponsored by GSN, recently chose Widmeyer as their agency-of-record.
Widmeyer is one of the largest independent communications agencies in the U.S. and has a long record of success in delivering strategic communications solutions to education-related clients.
“These projects illustrate the commitment made by both the public and private sectors to improving math and reading education,” said Jason Smith, Senior Vice President and Group Director of the PreK – 12 practice at Widmeyer. “They also underscore Widmeyer’s track record as the leader in this field”
The U.S. Department of Education established the National Mathematics Advisory Panel (NMP), to advise the President and the U.S. Secretary of Education on the best use of scientifically based research to advance the teaching and learning of mathematics. The NMP will build on the groundbreaking work of the National Reading Panel (NRP), for which Widmeyer also served as the communications agency of record during their launch. Widmeyer will work with the NMP to develop and promote strong, high impact research reports and to help introduce the NMP and its work to education audiences throughout the country.
Widmeyer will work with GSN to launch the nation’s first National Vocabulary Championship. Specific activities for this campaign will include message development, media outreach, and strategic partnership development, among other things.
