Vice President
Widmeyer Communications seeks an accomplished public affairs communications pro who has deep knowledge and experience running high-profile campaigns in the federal legislative and regulatory environments. This outstanding and high-energy individual truly gets the nexus between policy, politics and communications and knows how to navigate between them.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum 12-year proven track record of success leading and executing national communications and outreach programs focused on legislative and regulatory outcomes. For example, this experience could include handling all aspects of communications for an in-house government relations function at a large corporation; high-level agency experience; Hill/Executive Branch experience, or a similar combination of these. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in client and staff management, strategic and creative planning, and stellar communications program execution. The utmost attention to detail must be a core competency.
The Vice President will play a critical role in leading account teams for high profile clients that include Fortune 50 companies, highly visible coalitions and leading trade associations. This individual is currently successfully employed but wants to experience a broader range of challenges and opportunities.
Other important attributes include excellent project management skills, clear thinking, even clearer writing and the ability to get the job done with minimal supervision. This position calls for a teamwork mentality and focus on the client. Experience in the energy, transportation and/or financial services arenas a plus.
