Getting Beyond the Conventional Wisdom on the Way to 2008

Widmeyer Research and Polling Director Doug Usher Publishes 2006 Election Insights in a Washington Examiner OpEd

It’s a new day in the nation’s capital as Democrats take over in Congress, eager to get down to business and with more than a few predictably conflicted post- election post-mortems framing their understandable enthusiasm.

Either the new Democrats are “a crop of conservative [s] and moderates,” as CNN said, or they are “pretty conventional [liberal] Democrats,” as political analyst Stu Rothenberg asserted.

As usual, there are interpretations to fit every bias. A recent OpEd by Director of Research and Polling Doug Usher offers insights that go beyond the partisan spin.

Widmeyer welcomed Doug Usher to the firm as Senior Vice President in Fall 2006. Learn more about this strong new addition to the Widmeyer team.
